It seems like such a common trend these days to "rant"; basically to talk about things you don't like, or things that make you upset or irritate you, everything down to something as miniscule as a "pet peeve". People do it to "get things off their chests" which does make sense in one way or another; but rarely ever do we see people talking about and sharing things they love and are passionate about. I personally LOVE listening to and seeing someone go on and on about something they love; the way their eyes light up, the way their voice changes from what can be somewhat monotonous to complete enthusiasm, the way they begin to speak faster and faster out of excitement- everything. It's beautiful to me. That being said, here goes nothing...
I can go on and on for days and days (literally) about my Savior and how He never EVER fails, although I ALWAYS fail Him. And although I will continue to fail Him due to human nature, I will never stop striving to be a light for Him; because even though I am SO unworthy of His love and mercy, he continues to pour into me and I will never stop sharing that. He is the one that never changes and has constantly shown me who I am in Him; beautiful, valuable, and worthy. Okay. Like I said I can go on for days but I will move on now and leave you with this scripture.
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Hebrews 13:8
2. Finding & recognizing the extraordinary things in ordinary life
I'd like to say it has taken me a long time, but it really hasn't, although it does take practice. One day it just clicked. God gives us so many reminders of His greatness and His presence on a daily basis; we just need to train our eyes, minds, and hearts to recognize them. Living on the beautiful island of Hawai'i, I am at the beach or at least near the water a LOT; and one thing that I especially love is being near the ocean near sunrise and/or sunset. The "Golden Hour". The sun is on the horizon and the light is just right to where you can see the sea's salty mist in the air as the sun's rays glide through it. It's breathtaking. THIS is a daily occurrence, and always reminds me of how great God is. He allows us to experience these insanely beautiful moments EVERY DAY. The simplest things that make our hearts happy. That's God for me. With a full schedule doing this & that, even the simplest thing; a rainbow, the perfect song coming on the radio when I'm feeling discouraged, getting all the classes I want at the perfect times, having an awesome time with my friends, anything that gives me a little lift and brings a smile to my face. He gives me those moments. And although these may not seem like the typical "blessings" that people think of, they are to me. This is something that does indeed take practice as I am still training my heart to recognize these things, but once I do, it makes life that much more beautiful.
What can I say? I'm a girl!
See above :P
To any extent- literally. Whether it's travel, or trying out a new restaurant in town- I love it. I recently went on a trip with my boyfriend to Florida, which is the furthest East I've ever been. And IT. WAS. AMAZING. I absolutely LOVE experiencing new things, especially coming from a small town on an island in the middle of the ocean. We stayed in two different cities in Florida, as well as explored the Phoenix area for a few days on the way back; we were gone for seventeen days and- to be honest, it was NOT enough for me. I'm already looking forward to our next trip. ANYWHERE; even if it's two hours away to the other side of the island. That being said, I also consider going on a hike fifteen minutes out of town an awesome adventure. It's so awesome to experience new things even if it's at home. Adventure is whatever you make it
I could go on and on about things I love, but maybe I will save those for another time. If you've made it this far, I'd like to thank you for reading :P and I will see you next time friends. Heart emoji
